On December 20th, 2022 Jupiter re-enters Aries. Jupiter will stay in Aries until May 16th, 2023.
Jupiter in Aries is big and bold. This is not your usual Aries “just do it” type of energy… this is a “let’s do it BIG” type of energy. From December 2022 until May 2023, we have 5 months of Aries opportunities on steroids.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. Jupiter is how we go about our medium to long term plans.
Unlike Jupiter in Capricorn, Jupiter in Aries doesn’t strategize for months to come up with “the plan”. Unlike Jupiter in Aquarius, Jupiter in Aries doesn’t check out how “the plan” fits (or not) with the group’s objectives. Unlike Jupiter in Pisces, Jupiter in Aries doesn’t wait and see how “the plan” unfolds by God’s grace.
Jupiter in Aries just goes for it.
Aries energy is energy in its purest, rawest form. In the Tarot deck, Aries is the Fool.
Does it mean that Jupiter in Aries is a fool? Not at all. Jupiter in Aries is led by instinct. Jupiter in Aries ‘just knows’ what to do next. It just feels it in its gut. Nothing complicated. It just knows.
In March 2023, Jupiter engages in a 4-stellium conjunction with Chiron, Venus and Mercury in Aries. All the energy that Jupiter has been building up powerfully unleashes in March 2023. This is when we will get to witness the true power of this transit.
To get an idea of how Jupiter in Aries will be influencing us, let’s take a look at Jupiter’s journey through Aries, and see what aspects it makes with other planets.
Jupiter In Aries – December 2022 – February 2023
The first 3 months of the transit are rather quiet. Jupiter doesn’t engage in any major aspects, apart from some sextiles with the planets in Aquarius.
On January 4th, 2023 we have a Venus-Jupiter sextile, on January 26th, 2023 we have a Sun-Jupiter sextile, and then on February 18th, a Mercury-Jupiter sextile.
Sextiles are harmonious aspects which suggest that some opportunities may knock on our doors. However, with sextiles we need to put in a bit of effort to materialize these opportunities. The idea is to spot them and not let them slip.
Let’s say you get an invitation to go on a trip. You could call it off (because it’s too last minute) OR you could go with your gut and go.for.it.
A friend may come up with a collaboration idea. You may want to think it through, you may worry that it may jeopardize your friendship, OR you can go with your gut and go.for.it.
Does it mean we need to say “Yes” to everything, like Jim Carrey in Yes Man?
No. Aries is in fact very good at setting boundaries. With Jupiter in Aries, the idea is to say yes to those opportunities that feel right, to those opportunities that energize and inspire you. Whether you’re ready or not is not the point. The question here is “are you excited about it?”
Jupiter Conjunct Chiron In Aries – March 2023
The most important transit of Jupiter in Aries is Jupiter conjunct Chiron. The exact transit happens on March 12th, 2023 at 14° Aries.
Jupiter and Chiron only meet each other in Aries once every 50 years on average. This conjunction is particularly important for people born with Chiron in Aries, but it will influence each one of us, depending on the natal house that the transit is triggering.
Jupiter and Chiron have a lot in common. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, which is symbolized by a half-man, half-horse centaur. Chiron is a centaur himself. Both Jupiter and Chiron are connected with spirituality, teaching, and mentorship.
Jupiter conjunct Chiron comes with opportunities for healing and growth. Jupiter expands the qualities of the planet it touches; when Jupiter is conjunct Chiron, we have an expansion of Chiron themes: body-spirit integration, holistic healing, coming to terms with our dual nature.
When Jupiter conjuncts Chiron, we are offered opportunities to find healing by integrating our duality, by coming to terms with the different parts of ourselves that don’t normally ‘work’ together.
All Chiron transits come with an opportunity to heal deep rooted wounds and find wholeness. These transits usually come with a so-called “healing crisis” which means that initially, we can experience a worsening of symptoms.
Old wounds will resurface and we will again be reminded of painful experiences we haven’t fully processed. However, this acknowledgement of the wound is a normal part of the healing process.
Jupiter conjunct Chiron will help us connect the dots and see what’s the bigger picture behind these wounds, revealing the crucial role they have served to our growth and development.
Jupiter conjunct Chiron is also an opportunity to heal our spiritual wounds. We come into existence through an experience of rupture.
Deep inside, we all miss that Neptunian sense of bliss and self-sufficiency we experienced inside our mother’s womb, and we all hold some sort of resentment for being brought into the world. Jupiter conjunct Chiron is our opportunity to heal this rupture wound and find a deeper meaning to our existence.
Jupiter makes Chiron more accessible, bringing coherence and alignment. When Jupiter is conjunct Chiron, healing doesn’t have to be that hard – Jupiter will point to the path of least resistance.
Jupiter Square Pluto – May 2023
Jupiter in Aries starts with some nice sextiles which will put some opportunities on the table (December-February).
Jupiter in Aries culminates with the Jupiter-Chiron conjunction (March) which is our unique chance to have a breakthrough, and then the transit ends on a very high note with a square to Pluto.
Exactly as it leaves Aries and moves into Taurus, in May 2023 Jupiter squares Pluto at 0° Aquarius.
Aspects at 0° of signs are very important because they speak of important new beginnings. The Jupiter-Pluto square carries an “all or nothing” energy that will shake us to the core.
Aquarius is a collective sign that symbolizes society with its norms and conventions. Taurus is our personal, individual values. When these 2 giants are at cross purposes, our personal values clash with those of society.
The Jupiter-Pluto square will address the same themes the Saturn-Uranus square has addressed in 2021-2022, but will take a completely different approach.
If the Saturn-Uranus square has been sloooow and frustrating, Jupiter square Pluto is fast and furious. This is a ‘let’s get on with it’, ‘let’s get it done at all costs’ type of energy.
How do we make the best use of the Jupiter in Aries transit?
With Jupiter in Aries, you firstly want to become aware of the opportunities that knock on your door and say YES to those that feel right. You may want to pay special attention to opportunities connected to friends, communities and groups of people (Aquarius).
Prepare yourself to face some deeper truths about yourself, about who you are at a core level. The Jupiter-Chiron conjunction asks for your vulnerability and self-compassion.
Jupiter conjunct Chiron will then propel you to take decisive action, once Jupiter approaches the square to Pluto.
Jupiter square Pluto can be the big shaker that will set you free – or can be an explosion of rage, ultimatums or over to top reactions that will hurt you and others.
We always have a say. Whatever happens in our life is the result of every little step and decision we make.
Jupiter in Aries comes with incredible opportunities for growth and self actualization.
If you’re brave, trust your intuition, and you go.for.it., Jupiter in Aries may be that transit you look back on and say “This is when I became the real me”.
